FAQ

Do You Have Questions?

Below you can find the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we receive.

  • What is your service area?
I am licensed in the state of CT. I will travel anywhere within a 30 minute radius from my home. Generally, this will include the following towns: Guilford, Madison, Branford, North Branford, Northford, North Haven, Wallingford, Killingworth, Clinton, East Haven and Hamden.
  • What if I live outside of your service area?
If you are outside of this geographical area, or it will take me more than 30 minutes to travel to your home, a small travel fee will be added on to each visit. I will let you know if this applies to you prior to your first visit.
  • Can I use my FSA, HSA, or HRA?
Yes! Your flexible spending account, health savings account, or health reimbursement arrangement account can be used to pay for physical therapy services.
  • What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept HSA & FSA cards, credit cards, cash, or check. As a small business, we greatly appreciate cash or check as our preferred form of payment to save on processing fees. Please make checks out to Dizzy Therapy.
  • Can I use my insurance?
I am out of network with all insurances; however, this does not mean your insurance won’t reimburse you for my services. You are encouraged to contact your insurance company to ask about your out of network benefits. The amount you’ll be reimbursed depends on your individual plan, and will likely be higher if you have met your deductible for the year. I can provide you with a superbill for each visit, which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
  • Do I need a prescription for physical therapy?
No! In CT, physical therapists have direct access, meaning I can evaluate and treat you without a physician referral. The only exception is if you are being seen for a work-related injury. If you are not progressing as expected after initiating care, or if I have additional concerns, I will refer you back to see your doctor.
  • How many visits will I need?
This depends on a number of factors. Because your sessions are one hour in length, you will likely need less visits than you would attending an outpatient clinic, because we will get more accomplished in each visit. Most patients will be seen 1-2 times per week initially. As you improve, the visits can be spread out to every other week or monthly. I will give you recommendations for the frequency and duration of your care at your first visit.
